Albuquerque Window Door and Trim was founded in 1912 in Tacoma, Washington, as a joint venture of eight millwork manufacturers to introduce Douglas Fir millwork products to the East Coast. By 1919, Albuquerque WDT helped set up the Olympia Veneer Company in Washington, which became the first worker-owned plywood plant and was soon to become the largest manufacturer of Douglas Fir plywood in the world with Albuquerque WDT as the sole distributor for the plant.

After World War II, as the method of plywood distribution changed and fully integrated mills began to dominate the industry, Albuquerque WDT transferred its emphasis to millwork products, the cornerstone of the company. WDT has been serving the Albuquerque area since 1979. Three family generations have owned and operated Albuquerque Window Door and Trim. In October 2019, WDT was acquired by ADENTRA (ADEN).
